Palapa: A term referring to a form of pitched roof made from natural grasses used in tropical areas to assist in keeping dwellings cool.
Brand new palapa, beachfront cottages and the existing Casita, all named for family members of the owners, make this property one of the most desirable rentals on Isla. They are located in the Sac Bajo region of Isla with the lagoon on one side and the spectacular view of Mujeres Bay on the other.
Each unit has been beautifully decorated and has it’s own terrace, or you can relax under the palapa umbrella on the beach just a few steps away. As a special ritual our guests enjoy nightly sunset viewing over the Caribbean from the lounge chairs provided. Onsite caretakers help to make your stay care free and for a small fee they can assist you with shopping or other needs. Swimming, snorkeling, diving are all close at hand or visit the turtle farm, Dolphin Discovery, or the small zoo at Mundaca Gardens. Good restaurants are close by and it is only a 6 – 8 min. taxi ride to downtown.
Palapa Sam & Palapa Lee are cottages adjoining and can be enjoyed as separate private units or opened to each other for use by a family or a group of up to 4 people.
